The port of Frederikshavn, being a commercial port, functions as a service centre for trade and industry in Frederikshavn and Northern Jutland.

 

The port of Frederikshavn is the starting point for ferry traffic to Sweden (Gothenburg) and Norway (Oslo) – and to the Danish islands of Laesoe and Hirsholmene.

 

The port has a total of 6 km of quays, 5 ferry berths, 1 railway ferry berth and 3 Ro-Ro berths at its disposal.

 

The water depth in the harbour is between 7 and 8 metres.

 

The port covers a total area of 1,710,000 m2, of which the water area is 540,000 m2.

 

The port of Frederikshavn has a modern and efficient infrastructure, and logistically the users of the port and their customers profit from the easy access to the European motorway and railway networks.

 

A busy port with about 5,000 annual ship calls, thereof 4,000 ferry calls with 2 mio passengers, 370,000 passenger cars, 170,000 truck units, 2,500 busses, and a total freight quantity amounting to 2.4 mio tons. The port of Frederikshavn is among the 10 largest ports in Denmark and one of the country's busiest ferry ports..
