Smyril Line chooses Frederikshavn
Jan. 09, 2008
Smyril line informs:
Based on recent events and developments like the fact that we have hired a cargo-vessel from mid January and until October 2008; there will be some alterations to the Smyril Line sailing-schedule until the docking in week 8 in Hamburg.
The main news is that the M/S Norrøna will only sail between Bergen and Fredrikshavn (using Hanstholm as the alternative harbour) from the 20th of January and until the 17th of February.
This coming Saturday, 12th of January, the Norrøna use the port of Hanstholm for arrival and departure.
After the 12th of January and until the scheduled docking in late February, the port of Fredrikshavn will be considered as the main port and Hanstholm as the alternative harbour.
The main reason for this alteration is the fact that Smyril Line wants to guarantee that the cruise-passengers sailing between Bergen and Denmark get the best product available in these two months that sometimes bring bad weather to the area. The newly hired cargo-ship will still use Hanstholm as their port of departure.
Here are the sailing-schedules until the 17th of February
The sailing-schedule for the 10th and 17th of January will be as usual, here the only modification is that Fredrikshavn will be the main port of arrival and Hanstholm the alternative harbour.
From the 20th of January and until the 17th of February the schedule is as follows:
Bergen departure Fridays at 6pm
Arrival in Fredrikshavn/Hanstholm Saturdays at 1pm
Departure from Fredrikshavn/Hanstholm at 6pm
Arrival in Bergen Sundays at 12pm
The Norrøna will stay in Bergen from Sundays to Fridays until week 8 when she will head for Hamburg for the scheduled docking.
The Norrøna will be return to the regular sailing-schedule when departing from Tórshavn in route to Norway and Denmark on the 28th of February at 5pm.
“Norröna” is both a passenger and cargo ship. The passenger part is of a cruise ship standard, so that the time on board becomes a natural part of the travellers' holiday
|
Passengers have many possibilities to pass the time on board “Norröna”, which has swimming pool and fitness centre with sunbeds and sauna, and a large and good playroom for the children. There will be a large selection of goods in the shops, which will be approx. three times the size of those on board the present ship. There will be great emphasis on passenger comfort, in order to make sure that all will enjoy a feeling of wellbeing and relaxation. That is why all the passenger areas are situated on the outboard side of the ship with panoramic views, whilst service areas, such as shops, stores, kitchens and pantries are situated inboard on the ship. |
